Mercian Campionissimo 1981 Rebuild

Picture of the Frame and Forks before the renovation and rebuild. The frame is dated early January 1981 and suspect this was one of the last 1970's type model before the change in the Campionissimo model in 1981.  Made from Reynolds double butted 531 steel, and would have been an entry level model.

The Mercian Campionissimo spec sheet  is courtesy of the Mercian website.

The pictures below are of the renovated Frame and forks having been in to Bob Jacksons in Leeds.  The work entailed: Respray in metalic Ameranco, Lugs lined in white, down tube gear bosses, Re-space rear drops to 130mm ( needed new Seat and Chain brides) and new bottom bracket tunnel for front mech.  Not cheap but worth it!

I'll add the parts over the next few months, some campag super record ( as period as possible) and SR stem and seat post (early 1980's period), to create a lovely working vintage bike.
